Air Purification Systems for Buses
Help Protect Drivers and Occupants with Proven Air Purification Systems for Buses
Effective air purification systems for buses and transportation vehicles are an essential part of a comprehensive indoor air quality solution.
Our expert team — with over 55 years of expertise in air quality and HVAC — has evolved our proven portfolio of air quality solutions to include an innovative air purification system for buses, transit vans, trains and other vehicles. This vehicle air purification solution provides effective treatment of both the air and surfaces inside the vehicle. Germs, viruses, VOCs, pollution, odors and allergens are all addressed with this easy to install system that requires virtually no maintenance and provides a best in class low cost of ownership vs. other technologies.
Air Purification for Buses / Vehicles: Ozone-free Bipolar Ionization
Our air purifier solution for buses involves utilizing ozone-free bipolar ionization that treats the air and surfaces without creating ozone or harmful byproducts. This patented UL2998 ozone-free certified clean air device (pictured right) delivers numerous IAQ benefits. Here’s how:
NPBI (needlepoint bipolar ionization) technology works to safely clean the air inside industrial, commercial and residential buildings as well as transportation vehicles.
The patented technology uses an electronic charge to create a plasma field filled with a high concentration of + and - ions. As these ions travel with the air stream they attach to particles, pathogens and gas molecules. The ions help to agglomerate fine submicron particles, making them easier to filter and also neutralize pathogens by robbing them of life-sustaining hydrogen.
The ions break down harmful VOCs with an Electron Volt Potential under twelve (eV<12) into harmless compounds like O2, CO2, N2, and H2O. The ions produced travel within the air stream into the occupied spaces, cleaning the air everywhere the ions travel, even in spaces unseen.
What is an Ion?
An ion is a molecule or atom that is positively or negatively charged, meaning that it has electrons to give, or needs electrons to become uncharged, thus becoming stable.
Mother Nature’s Way of Cleaning
This technology generates the same ions as Mother Nature creates with lightning, waterfalls, and ocean waves. Mother Nature uses energy to break apart molecules. It is nature’s way of cleansing the air naturally and creating a healthy environment. Our solution utilizes this same process and also does it without forming ozone or other harmful byproducts.
Two Air Purification System Installation Options for Buses:
Improve the air quality inside your vehicle while also reducing germs on surfaces with a proven solution from ISO-Aire air purifiers for buses. There are two options when adding a layer of purification, both of which provide the proper ion counts throughout the space to achieve the proper air and surface efficacy on germs. The following two options are based on the bus type and existing HVAC system:
1) Utilize Ionization in the Existing HVAC System:
Our first approach is to connect an ozone-free bipolar ionization device to a vehicle’s existing HVAC system. This can be done cost effectively to ensure a constant stream of ions is released into the bus area to purify the air.
2) Install a Standalone Unit:
For buses without an existing HVAC system, we mount a standalone air purifier on the ceiling. The small box, consisting of a fan and bipolar ionizer, infuses the space with positive and negative ions inside the vehicle envelope.
Advantages of Ionization In Air Purifiers for Buses:
Neutralizes and treats germs in the air and on surfaces, including COVID-19
Helps reduce odors
Reduces VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
Little to no maintenance
